{"id":13051,"date":"2023-09-29T11:03:18","date_gmt":"2023-09-29T10:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/citysecuritymagazine.com\/?p=13051"},"modified":"2023-11-29T11:04:59","modified_gmt":"2023-11-29T11:04:59","slug":"international-security-officers-day-2023-in-the-city-of-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citysecuritymagazine.com\/police-partnerships\/international-security-officers-day-2023-in-the-city-of-london\/","title":{"rendered":"International Security Officers\u2019 Day 2023 in the City of London"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>International Security Officers\u2019 Day 2023 in the City of London<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monday 24th July 2023 was International Security Officers\u2019 Day \u2013 a day to say \u2018Thank You\u2019 and recognise security officers and front of house staff for the amazing work they do 24\/7 (hence the date).The first International Security Officers\u2019 Day was in 2016, having been established by the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL), who took their inspiration from Singapore who two years earlier decided to make this a day of recognition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/citysecuritycouncil.co.uk\">City Security Council<\/a> arranged a day\u2019s events to acknowledge security officers\u2019 unwavering commitment and bravery to ensure the safety and protection of people, property and assets in a variety of challenging environments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the morning, SIA\u2008CEO Michell Russell and Chair Heather Bailey visited buildings in the City of London to meet their security teams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The celebrations then moved to a gathering in the Old Library (picture opposite) in the Lloyd\u2019s of London building for lunch and for security officers to network with representatives from the City of London Police, the BSIA and City of London Corporation, and Security Institute, President Baroness Ruth Henig CBE, DL, and Don Randall MBE, Chairman of the City of London Crime Prevention Association, who were there to support and acknowledge this special day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michelle Russell and Heather Bailey addressed the audience and Michelle presented CSC certificates to those that had gone above and beyond in their duty.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was a great day; thank you again to all the wonderful security officers who look after us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many thanks for the support from Lloyd\u2019s of London and Lorraine Mansfield of Mitie Security who facilitated the venue, and SecuriGroup who sponsored lunch.
